Scout, or Scoutie as I like to call him is so darn cute!  

This dog does not realize that he is a dog, he will sit and look at you when talking to him like he really is soaking up all your wisdom.   Most times I catch Scout looking at the horizon thinking about stuff.   Obviously not dog stuff!  LOL   Probably wondering why he has to hang around all the dogs so much.

Today's Dog is the sweet adorable Diana!!!   

Diana was a rescue from a hoarding situation.  When we got her, she was matted, thin and very timid.  As her health grew so did her sweetness.  Oh so sweet!!!!   



A little mix of Maltese and Shih Tzu, she encompasses those qualities beautifully.  She would be happy to sit in your lap all day and be your gal!!!!

When you think of a cairn terrier, most people think of Toto from Wizard of Oz.  Smart, loyal, and affectionate are words that are used to describe Dorothy!!!   



I had the advantage of spending the day with Dorothy while showing another dog to a potential adopter.  The potential adopter knew immediately that she was Dorothy!!!  (Guess you have a fan base Dorothy)  As we waited for the potential adopter to show up I got to see how Dorothy interacted with the other dogs.

We have rescued a new dog which we have named Wendy!!!  Wendy is a Schnauzer / Shih Tzu mix.  Oh so cute!!!!  She is a sweet little dog with a cute little attitude.   She is looking for her forever home!!!

New Life K-9 Rescue has nearly doubled our rescue saving these dogs from Lancaster. Please help -all need to be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped. Three were pregnant, all have worms, giardia, coccidia, two are missing eyes and two have injuries to their legs and backs. Every dog costs us an average of $500 in vet care, food, training, etc.

All these dogs came from the Lancaster hoarder that had over 100 free-roaming UNALTERED dogs on their property surviving only on bread donations from a local bakery. They were living in squalor and without shelter. We've been able to get nearly 70 dogs off the property and 15 cats/kittens. Here are a few big dogs in boarding that we need to get out ASAP so we can go get the rest of the 7 dogs in Lancaster.

LANCASTER HOARDER PROJECT DAY 2


Just got back from day 2 at Lancaster Hoarding Situation.
 
Got many dogs out, a huge THANK YOU to the few rescues that showed up. We brought up over 1,000 pounds on day 1. We pulled 8 dogs, many of them are big cases. At least 3 are pregnant (it seems all the female dogs WERE pregnant), 2 are missing eyes from coyote attacks and one is a puppy with deformed legs most likely from malnutrition.
